FOUNDER OF THE HEALING CURVE, PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD: DR. GARY MOTYKIE

Dr. Gary Motykie is a nationally-recognized, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in breast surgery, facial reconstruction, rhinoplasty, and other cosmetic surgical procedures. From the beginning of his career as a personal trainer and fitness specialist through his recent world-wide recognition as a specialist in plastic surgery techniques, Dr. Motykie has been committed to providing an integrative approach to health, wellness, nutrition, and surgery, giving him unique insight into the importance of secondary aesthetic procedures in the emotional and physical recovery of cancer survivors and victims of trauma. He founded The Healing Curve in 2008 because he believes that the true art of plastic surgery is giving patients back the hope that has been taken from them by the physical and emotional damage of their lives.

Dr. Motykie received his Undergraduate Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering, focusing on the development of artificial organs and prosthetic limbs. After graduating with top honors and numerous academic awards, Dr. Motykie studied Medicine at Northwestern University and Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas, one of the world’s foremost cancer and burn reconstruction hospitals. In addition to maintaining a successful private plastic surgery practice and founding The Healing Curve, Dr. Motykie has dedicated himself to promoting The Healing Curve’s outreach mission to educate both the medical and insurance communities, as well as the general public, about the importance of reconstructive surgery and the role it plays in facilitating recovery for survivors and trauma victims. He has been featured in The New York Times, LA Times, and the Wall Street Journal, and has appeared as a guest surgeon on numerous television programs, most notably Dr. 90210 which led to his decision to open The Healing Curve. As Dr. Motykie himself explains, cancer survivors and trauma victims “have already been through so much, they deserve a chance to see what plastic surgery can truly do for them.”
